"She Is Art" Painting Created to Celebrate International Women's Day

Artist Brandon Boutte', of Houston TX, dedicates a new painting to women all around the world for International Women's Day.

International Women's Day (IWD) is an international holiday, celebrated annually on March 8 to commemorate the cultural, political, and socioeconomic achievements of women. It is also a focal point in the women's rights movement, bringing attention to issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women.

Artist, Brandon Boutte' , of Houston, TX created a truly amazing painting that reflects diversity, elegant femininity, and a strong colorful essence that captivates the eye. The 36x48 acrylic painting is filled with many different colors, "representing the different colors, layers, perspectives, and emotions of all women across the world".

“SheIsArt” is a painting created to celebrate the multilayers of a woman, from the different perspectives, emotions, views, and most importantly to celebrate the different colors of women all around the world. The red represents the fierce power and energy of a woman with ambition, and sense of self-awareness. The pink represents the softness of the woman, the compassion…the lady. The white represents the purity of a woman’s energy and the peace that comes along with a woman in perfect harmony with her self and her counterparts. The purple represents royalty, and the grace that flows from only the presence of a woman. The gold represents the value and talents that a woman possess over any other being on earth, making her the most valued presence of mankind. The green represents the earth, alluding to Mother Earth who gives us all a place to exist, eat, drink, and coexist as a human race made up of different families. The light browns represent the lightest shade of a woman, where light hits her edges and shillouette, while the darker browns represent the dark shades of a woman, where her fortitude, ideas, and secrets live.

Brandon also feels that it's important that the likeliness of many different races, shapes, and colors of women are seen throughout art to make sure all are represented, creatively.

"I was actually challenged by a woman to create something more abstract to step out of my comfort zone, and after completing the piece I really grew to appreciate the change that she brought to my life and chose to dedicate the piece to all women everywhere..."

Boutte' has been an artist since the age of 5. In high school he was recognized as "Best Artist in Texas" at the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. and has been on a creative pursuit ever since, as a painter, tattoo artist, and musician.
